Arrive in Varanasi, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities on Earth. Our representative will greet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.
In the evening, prepare for a powerful sensory experience. You will be taken to the Dashashwamedh Ghat to witness the Ganga Aarti ceremony. This captivating ritual of fire, chant, and music, dedicated to the River Ganges, is a profound display of devotion.
Overnight at Hotel HHI (or similar).
Rise before dawn for an unforgettable sunrise boat ride on the Ganges. As the sun ascends, watch the riverfront come to life with pilgrims performing rituals and prayers at the bathing ghats. This is a timeless spectacle of faith, offering a glimpse into the spiritual heart of India.
Return to your hotel for breakfast. Later, explore the city’s lanes, viewing the golden spires of the Vishwanath Temple from the outside (entry is restricted to Hindus). You will also visit the serene campus of the Benares Hindu University.
In the afternoon, travel to Sarnath. Just 10 kilometres away, this is where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon. The tranquil atmosphere of the ancient stupas and ruins stands in stark contrast to Varanasi’s vibrant energy, offering a moment for quiet reflection at one of Buddhism’s most sacred sites.

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive (approximately 7-8 hours) through the countryside of Madhya Pradesh to Khajuraho. Upon arrival, check into your hotel.
In the evening, experience the Western Group of Temples in a dramatic new light during the Sound & Light Show. The ancient tales of the Chandela dynasty and the temples’ creation are brought to life against the backdrop of the illuminated monuments.

This morning, embark on a comprehensive tour of the Khajuraho Temple Complex. Built between 950-1050 AD by the Chandela Dynasty, these UNESCO World Heritage sites are celebrated globally for their sublime architecture and intricate, expressive sculptures that depict all aspects of life. You will explore both the Western and Eastern Groups, witnessing what is considered the pinnacle of medieval Indian art.
Afterwards, enjoy a shorter drive (approximately 2-3 hours) to the historic town of Orchha. Upon arrival, check into your hotel.

Spend your morning exploring the magnificent ruins of Orchha, which appear to have been frozen in time. Your tour includes:
- The imposing Orchha Fort Complex, housing grand palaces like the Jahangir Mahal.
- The unique Raja Ram Temple, a palace-turned-place of worship.
- The soaring Chaturbhuj Temple, built on a massive stone platform.
- The serene views of the Betwa River weaving through ancient cenotaphs.
In the afternoon, transfer to Jhansi Railway Station (approx. 40 minutes) to board the modern Gatiman Express train to Delhi. Relax in comfort as you watch the landscape change. Upon arrival at Delhi station, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

- The quote is in Australian dollars and is worked out based on the minimum pax travelling in the group, as mentioned in the cost grid above.

We are not seasoned international travellers. It took several days to feel comfortable in the tour due to the invasion of all our senses in Delhi and the Golden Triangle, but as we moved to the South, our comfort level increased significantly, and we began to really enjoy the tour, and we immersed ourselves in all activities. The hill country on Kerala is simply gorgeous and the people were gentle. Overall, thanks for an amazing tour, David.
