Welcome to India’s dynamic capital. Upon your arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport, you will be personally greeted and assisted with your transfer to the hotel. The remainder of your day is at leisure to relax and acclimatise.
Overnight at The South Gate Hotel (or similar).
Today, you will explore the fascinating contrast between Old and New Delhi.
Your exploration begins in the Old City, the historic Mughal capital. Here, you will:
Embark on a walking tour through the vibrant, chaotic lanes of Chandni Chowk, Asia’s largest wholesale market.
Discover specialised alleys like Kinari Bazaar for wedding finery and Dariba Kalan for glittering jewels.
Visit the serene Raj Ghat, a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi.
Behold the majestic Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque.
Experience the bustling streets from a new perspective with a thrilling rickshaw ride.
After lunch, step into New Delhi, the imperial city built by the British. Your tour includes:
A drive along the ceremonial Rajpath, past the India Gate, President’s Palace, and Parliament House.
A visit to the stunning Humayun’s Tomb, a precursor to the Taj Mahal and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
A visit to the Qutub Minar, the world’s tallest brick minaret, another remarkable UNESCO site.
Overnight at The South Gate Hotel (or similar). (Breakfast)
After breakfast, embark on the scenic drive (approximately 3-4 hours) to Agra. Upon arrival, check into your hotel.
This afternoon, delve into Agra’s Mughal history. You will visit the majestic Agra Fort, a massive red-sandstone fortress and UNESCO World Heritage site that served as the main residence of the Mughal Emperors. Later, discover the exquisite Itmad-ud-Daulah Tomb, often called the “Jewel Box” or a draft of the Taj Mahal, renowned for its delicate marble inlay work.
Overnight at The Retreat Hotel (or similar). (Breakfast)
Rise early for an unforgettable experience: witnessing the Taj Mahal at sunrise. As the first light touches its pristine white marble, the monument seems to glow from within. This timeless tribute to love, built by Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal, is a sight that will stay with you forever.
After this magical visit, return to the hotel for breakfast before beginning your drive to Jaipur (approximately 5-6 hours). En route, you may stop to see the abandoned Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri (optional, can be added upon request).
Upon arrival in the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur, check into your hotel.
Overnight at Khandela Mahal Hotel (or similar). (Breakfast)
Today is dedicated to exploring the regal splendour of Rajasthan’s capital.
Your day begins at the magnificent Amber Fort, a sprawling complex perched on a hilltop. Ascend to the fort on a jeep or a traditionally decorated elephant (subject to availability), and explore its grand palaces, halls, and stunning mirrored chambers.
Return to the city to visit the City Palace, which still houses the royal family. Roam through its courtyards, museums, and grand reception halls. You will also drive past the iconic Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), with its intricate honeycombed facade.
Your final stop is Jantar Mantar, a fascinating UNESCO-listed collection of ancient astronomical instruments that is both a scientific marvel and a architectural masterpiece.
Overnight at Khandela Mahal Hotel (or similar). (Breakfast)
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Jaipur International Airport for your onward flight, concluding your journey through India’s Golden Triangle.

We are not seasoned international travellers. It took several days to feel comfortable in the tour due to the invasion of all our senses in Delhi and the Golden Triangle, but as we moved to the South, our comfort level increased significantly, and we began to really enjoy the tour, and we immersed ourselves in all activities. The hill country on Kerala is simply gorgeous and the people were gentle. Overall, thanks for an amazing tour, David.
